Eight Blessings For The Humble

It is a known biblical fact hat the Lord takes pleasure in the humble (Psalms 149:4).

God had a close relationship with Moses and spoke directly to him because Moses was a humble man.

The Lord will take you through the ashes of despair to teach you humility.

Throughout the years I have been through many storms both literal and spiritual that taught me humility.

Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am weak; O Lord, heal me, for my bones are troubled. (Psalms 6:2)

The following are a some of the benefits that you will receive from God when you learn to live a humble life and trust totally in the strength and power of God.

Benefits of Humility

1. The Lord hears the cry of the humble

When He avenges blood, He remembers them; He does not forget the cry of the humble. (Psalm 9:12)

Lord, you have heard the desire of the humble; You will prepare their heart; You will cause Your ear to hear, to do justice to the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may oppress no more. (Psalm 10:17-18)

2. The Lord beautifies the humble with salvation

For the Lord takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the humble with salvation. (Psalm 149:4)

The Lord will give you beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. (Isaiah 61:3)

3. The humble will never fall.

Pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall. Better to be of a humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.

He who heeds the word wisely will find good, and whoever trusts in the Lord, happy is he. (Proverbs 16:18-20)

In that day, the deaf shall hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity and out of darkness.

The humble also shall increase their joy in the Lord, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel. For the terrible one is brought to nothing, the scornful one is consumed, and all who watch for iniquity are cut off—(Isaiah 29:18-20)

Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength. (Nehemiah 8:10)

    4. The humble will become the greatest in the Kingdom of God

The Lord said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.

Therefore, whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me. (Matthew 18:3-5)

    5. The humble will be exalted

“But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant.  And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.

“But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in yourselves nor do you allow those who are entering to go in. (Matthew 23:11-13)

He delivers me from my enemies. You also lift me up above those who rise against me; You have delivered me from the violent man. (Psalms 18:48)

      6. Humility brings unity among the brethren

Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble.

Do not be wise in your own opinion. Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. (Romans 12:15-17)

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! (Psalms 133:1)

      7. God guides the humble

The Lord will guide the humble in justice and teaches them His ways.

      8. Humility attracts wealth and long life

If you want wealth, honor and long life you need to make God the center of your life and maintain a humble spirit.
