Overcoming The Enemy
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. (John 16:33)
The Lord Jesus Christ overcome every trial and tribulation that is present in this world. He established the examples for us to do likewise while He walked this earth over two thousand years ago.

Overcoming the enemy
- The Word of God is the primary weapon that Jesus used to strike down the enemy. During the wilderness of trials, Jesus resisted the temptations of Satan by quoting the written Word of God: “It is written…“
- We can chase the devil away by simply opening our mouth and rebuking him, “Away with you, Satan“
- The presence of Jesus Christ in your heart will cause demons to tremble and flee from you.
- Demonstrating the perfect love of God in your heart to everyone that you meet.
- Praising the Lord! When your praises ascend to the Lord the blessings will descend and the enemy will be thrown in disarray.
- Remain in the sanctuary of God.
- Speak positive words over your life and testify about the goodness of God.
- And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony, and they loved not their lives unto the death. (Revelation 12:11NKJV)
Rewards for those who have overcome
In the letters to the churches in Asia, the Lord promised special rewards to His people who endured and overcame the attacks of the enemy.
- You will eat from the tree of life. “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.” (Revelation 2:7-8NKJV)
- The crown of life.

Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death.” ’(Revelation 2:10-11)
- When you overcome you will eat hidden manna and you will receive a new name.
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it.” ’(Revelation 2:17)
- You will receive power over the nations.
But hold fast what you have till I come. And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations. He shall rule them with a rod of iron; They shall be dashed to pieces like the potter’s vessels’—as I also have received from My Father; and I will give him the morning star. (Revelation 2: 25-28NKJV)
- Your name will forever be printed in the book of life.

He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. (Revelation 3:6)
- Pillar in the temple of God.
He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name. (Revelation 3:12)
- You will sit with Jesus on His throne.
To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. (Revelation 3:21)
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” ’(Revelation 2:29; 3:22NKJV)
I pray that we will all listen to words of the Lord Jesus Christ. I pray that we will follow His examples so that we will overcome.

Beverley has been serving the Lord since she was a child. At an early age, she recognized that God had a special plan for her life, but it was not until in her adulthood that she surrendered her total life to God and accepted the mandate that God placed on her life. The Lord called her into His Kingdom to be an encourager, intercessor, teacher, scribe, priest, and to proclaim the Word of God. Since then, Beverly has established a blog to teach us to become the oil and wine. The oil and wine are purified and mature products, which is the advanced level that the Lord expected of us. In 2017, Beverley published her first book, Harm Not The Oil And Wine. In it, she described her trials and how God helped her to overcome them, and to live more victoriously. The book also exposed the enemy of our souls with detailed information about his past defeats and future extinction. Wright spents most of her time studying the Bible to know the truth of God’s Word. She believes that only God’s truth can expose the deception of the enemy, and uproot and tear down spiritual strongholds. You can learn more about Beverley’s life and testimony on her website becomingtheoilandwine.com. You can also find her on Facebook and Google+ under the name of her blog, and on Twitter as @Theoilandwine. View all posts by Beverley
Thank you for sharing this. God has given us dominion over the enemy but we must play our part in enjoying the victory He has won for us.
We must put on the whole armour of God and fight with the weapons of faith.
This is an insightful piece.
