Naming Your Blessings
When was the last time you count your blessings?
Are the blessings of the Lord so enormous in your life that you are unable to count them?
I agree that the blessings of the Lord are countless and sometimes we overlook or take them for granted.
This was my weakness until hurricane Irma in 2017, taught me some valuable lessons.
One of the lessons learnt was how to shop wisely in the supermarket.
Before Irma, I shopped impulsively especially when items were on sale.
However, after the hurricane I had no electricity at home hence no refrigerator and so I was forced to purchase only non-perishable essential items.
As a result, I spend less money and save more.
I also learned to give the Lord thanks daily for basic essentials such as running water because after the hurricane we had no running water for a long time.
Over thirty years ago as a result of hurricane Gilbert that devastated Jamaica in 1988, I purchased my first house in Jamaica in my early twenties.
These positive lessons I learned as a result of the hurricanes far outweigh the disadvantages of a hurricane.
Recently, many people in the Caribbean islands, Mexico, and Texas have been devastated by Hurricane Beryl.
I pray that they will find good amid tragedy.
I pray that they will find comfort in knowing that the Lord will pour out blessings during times of trials because nothing is impossible for Him.
But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
(Matthew 19:26 NKJV)

Encouraging note
We are living in serious times and we need to know the provision that God has made for us and how we can be prepared for the return of the Lord.
