Six Reasons Why You Were Created

Why am I created?

This is a question that all of us have pondered at some point in our lives especially when we are in the midst of fiery trials.

Job cursed the day of his birth when he was severely persecuted by Satan. In great distress, Job cried, “May the day perish on which I was born, and the night in which it was said, ‘A male child is conceived.’ May that day be darkness; May God above not seek it, nor the light shine upon it.” (Job 3:3-4)

Furthermore, Job asked himself some deep questions: ” “Why did I not die at birth? Why did I not perish when I came from the womb? Why did the knees receive me? Or why the breasts, that I should nurse? Or why was I not hidden like a stillborn child, Like infants who never saw light? (Job 3:11-12; 16 NKJV).

God forbid that anyone should reach this low point in their life to regret the day he was born.

However, when Job had an encounter with God he regained the victory over Satan and God reward him double for all his afflictions.

I pray that you will never had to experience the trials of Job, but we all have trials and sometimes we need some reassurance of our significance to God.

Six reasons why you were created.

  • In the likeness of God

God is a spirit which means that we cannot see His natural image. God wants us to have a visual representation of Himself upon earth so He created humans in His image and likeness. (Genesis 1:27; 5:1)

Jesus is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. The Lord Jesus Christ was the Word in the beginning and He was with God and He is God (John 1:1; Col. 1:15).

  • You were created because of love

The Lord has engraved you in the palm of His hands and you are always on His mind (Isaiah 49:16).

The redemption of this sinful earth was done because of God’s great love for us (Isaiah 43:1; John 3:16).

  • You were created to take care of planet earth.

God created humans to control and take care of all the natural resources of the earth and to have dominion over the animals, birds and sea creatures (Genesis 1:26-28).

  • You were created to praise the Lord.

When we look up into the heavens and see the magnificent work of the Lord we cannot help but praise Him.

If humans cease to praise the Lord the rocks, hills and valleys and even the seas will ring out praises to the Lord.

Therefore, praise the name of the Lord because He commanded and you were created (Psalms 102:18; 148:5)

  • You were created for the glory of the Lord.

Everyone who is called by My name, whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made him.”

(Isaiah 43:7)
  • You are God’s workmanship

We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ for good works (Ephesians 2:10).

The Lord has great expectations for us and we need to live up to His standards.

The standard of the Lord is pure and will give you life.

If humans do not live up to the expectations of God then the works of their hands will be destroyed (Genesis 6:7)

You were created because you are special!

  1. Thank you Beverley for sharing these 6 reasons. These are encouraging reminders that God has a purpose for our lives. And even when we go through trials, He is aware and has a purpose.

  2. I love the thought that I am God’s workmanship. My husband is a painter and as I watch him create a painting, I think of God taking time to create me. While I was still in my mother’s womb, he knitted me to be the person I am.

    • Praise the Lord. He even knows the number of our hair. A painter is very patient and skillful in his work. That is how God dealt with us. He knows our frame. Thanks for sharing

  3. Hi Beverley! I am beyond grateful for all that God has prepared for us before we were born. However the best is yet to come! I am ecstatic because our glorified bodies will be like the resurrected body of Jesus. Our resurrected bodies will be imperishable, and powerful. We will be clothed in white garments (Rev. 3). Hallelujah!!
