Discover Thirteen Benefits of Delighting in God

When you delight or take pleasure in the things of God He will also delight in you.

When your ways please the Lord He makes even your enemies to be at peace with you.

Bear in mind that your enemies are not flesh and blood, but principalities, powers, rulers of darkness in this world and against spiritual wickedness in high places (Ephesians 6:12).

These are the evil spiritual enemies from Satan’s kingdom that will leave you in peace when you delight yourself in the Lord.

Let us, therefore, explore some of the other benefits guaranteed to you when you take pleasure in the Lord.

Benefits of delighting or taking pleasure in the Lord.

  1. God will give you the desires of your heart. (Psalms 37:4; Psalms 10:17; Psalms 22:7; Psalms 145:19).

4. The Word of God will abide in your heart. (John 8:31; John 15:7

5. God will comfort your soul. (Isaiah 40:1; Isaiah 61:2; 2 Corinthians 1:3-4)

6. You will receive revelation from the Lord. (Ephesians 3:14-21).

9. You will be delighted in God’s love (Psalms 45:7; Galatians 2:20; Hebrews 1:9; 1 John 2:5; 1 John 4:9).

10. You will walk in truth (2 Kings 20:3; Psalms 15;2; Psalms 86:11; 1 John 1:6; 3 John 1:3-4).

11. Your soul will delight in abundance (Psalms 37:11; Isaiah 55:2).

12. When you delight in the Lord, He will feed and elevate you (Isaiah 58:14; Isaiah 66:11).

13. You will not be forsaken or desolate and you shall possess your possession (Nehemiah 9:25; Isaiah 62:4).

In view of all the above benefits, I encourage you to make a commitment to the Lord and declared,

“One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple.” (Psalms 27:4 KJV)

Be soft and pliable in the hands of the Lord.

Allow the Lord to use you for His glory. You can put your complete trust in the Lord because He wants the best for you.

Your plans may not coincide with God’s plans for you, but willingly forsake yours’ and select His plans for you.

You will discover that God’s plans for you are the true desires of your heart.
