Understanding Divine Blessings and Their Impact

The blessings of being blessed!

According to Dictionary.com when you are blessed it means you are granted divine favor. It also means you are supernaturally protected by God.

According to Strong Concordance, the definition of bless (bāraḵ H1288) means to bend the knees or to kneel.

It is essentially an act of breaking down, which gives the impression of humility and subjection to God.

Let us look at an example of its usage in the Bible.

The above blessing was God’s promise to Abraham if he leave his home to settle in the land that God chose for him.

As a result of Abraham’s obedience, all the families of the earth would be blessed.

As Christians, we tap into this blessing through Jesus Christ.

Essentially, under the cover of this blessings you are expecting divine favor and protection.

But, let us take this deeper to incorporate the Hebrew definition of bless.

To be blessed means that you are subjected to the supreme authority of God.

It means you bow down and worship Him in humility and sincerity. It also means that you are obedient to God.

Your act of reverence and devotion to God will definitely results in benefits

Benefits of being blessed

  • Your household will be blessed.

When you declare as Joshua did, “As for me and my house we will serve the Lord, ” your entire family will reap the benefits (Joshua 24:15).

  • Wherever you go and whatever you do the favor of the Lord will follow you and even overtake you.

In essence, the Lord will give you the desires of God’s heart.

  • You will be fruitful in your body and productive in your business.

You will grow from strength to strength and in the image and glory of the Lord.

  • The Lord will fight your battle.

Your only action is to put on the whole armor of God.

  • The storehouses of Heaven will be opened to you.

You will receive the former and the latter rain in its season.

  • You will lend to others but you will not borrow.

How amazing it is to know that you will be debt free.

You will have many followers and subscribers on your social media page when they are dedicated to the work of God.

  • You will receive spiritual blessings in heavenly places through Christ Jesus.

It will be like the dew from mount Hermon, descending upon the mountains of Zion. It is, indeed, life forevermore!

  • The Lord will sanctify and preserve you blameless before the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

When you live in obedience and in accordance with the will of God for your life you will receive the benefits of being blessed.

The blessings of the Lord be upon you; We bless you in the name of the Lord! (Psalms 129:8b).
