Happy New Year!

All of us can testify that 2020 has been a challenging year.

I recall how eager I was to enter a new year that promised 20/20 vision. It was thought to be a year of enlightenment and a year of fulfillment.

My pastor prophesied that it would be a year of increase. We were expecting an increase in only good things not realizing that it could be a year of increased trials. 

Indeed, 2020 was a year when the world experienced unprecedented trials.

But, God!

He unmasked the vicious plots of the enemy and protected us from his full onslaught.

In the latter part of December 2019, I received a Word from the Lord that 2020 will be my year of fullness.

Now, looking back over the past year I am trying to identify if everything that the Lord promised was fulfilled in my life.

The Lord promised that it would be a year of full redemption, full measure, full grace and truth through the Lord Jesus Christ, full health and prosperity, full blessings, and being filled with the fullness of God.

I can truthfully say that all of God’s promises were fulfilled in my life in the year 2020.

My prosperity was not by monetary means, but I prospered even as my soul prospered. This is the prosperity that the Lord promised in 3 John 1:2.

I will not deny that during the year 2020 my faith was tested and tried in the fire.

Even now as the end of the year draws closer, I feel as if I am crawling on my hands and knees to reach the finale.

Yes, this year reminded me of my trek to Blue mountain Peak in Jamaica (7,401 ft.) during my younger years.

The trail was an easy hike for my teammates but for my untrained body, it was excruciating.

I finished the last mile to the peak crawling on my hands and knees.

But, I finished and it was good.

The Lord did not promise that the race will be smooth and easy.

The Bible states that the race is not for the swift nor the battle for the strong but for those who endure until the end. (Ecclesiastes 9:11; Hebrews 12:1)

Therefore, there will be plenty of storms on the journey but the Lord will help us to cope with them.

As I continue to reflect over the past year, I realized that I missed a crucial part of the prophetic Word that God gave me for 2020.

The Lord said that I should stay on guard and always consult Him before making any move in my life.

Unfortunately, I neglected to obey that crucial area and for that, I paid the price.

However, my God is a forgiving God and He will always right the wrong in your life because that is part of His nature.

Consequently, I have not received any new declaration from the Lord for 2021. He is still saying, “Seek Me.”

Seek The Lord!

But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find Him, if thou seek Him with all thy heart and with all thy soul. (Deuteronomy 4:29)

Seek the Lord before making any new decision in your life.

Seek the Lord at the mercy seat of grace.

Similar to David who consistently enquired of the Lord on whether to fight his enemy so should you seek the Lord about the strategies of the enemy to expose his lies and conquer him. (See 1 Samuel 23)

Seek the Lord to receive the best of the oil and wine for 2021.

Even when things around you seem to be falling apart continue to seek the Lord because there is always hope in God.

When you continuously seek the Lord, you are establishing Him as first place in your life and you are giving Him your most valuable asset.

The Bible emphasized that we should seek the Lord and His strength and seek His face continually (1 Chronicles 16:11).

This is the only way we can live the kingdom lifestyle while on this earth.

We will be able to maintain a righteous life in the Lord and bear fruits in our season even on stony ground.

The problems of life will erupt every now and then but don’t despair God is in control.

Sometimes you will need to take a break from your regular activities and simply seek the Lord earnestly.

It is also a healthy habit to always take some time to reflect upon the past month to count your blessings in spite of.

As you celebrate the new year never forget to pray for yourself and family, pray for others, and above all seek the Lord continually.

Seek The Lord!
