What is it about me that sets me apart,
That makes me downcast, and troubles my heart?
Could it be knowing some are headed in the wrong direction?
Not willing to accept our Fathers love and correction?
I sense something amiss and it goes very deep,
To the depth of my soul, which causes me to weep.
It must be the enemy who’s been busy at work,
Digging pits, making snares, accusing the brethren with a smirk.
To trip up Gods children, and deceive whom he can,
So that he can get even with the Son of man.
Distracting us from God is his primary goal,
By any means possible to steal away our soul.
So now when I ponder that which sets me apart,
I take hold of Gods Word, which causes me NOT to lose heart.

All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes: but the Lord weigheth the spirits. Proverbs 16:2 (KJV)
Who so loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish. Proverbs 12:1 (KJV)
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. 1 Peter 5:8 (KJV)
Therefore, since we have this ministry, Â as we have received mercy, we do not lose heart. 2 Corinthians 4:1 (NKJV)
But know that the Lord has set apart for Himself him who is godly; The Lord will hear when I call to Him. Psalm 4:3 (NKJV)

My name is Susan, and Beverley from Becoming the Oil and the Wine, https://becomingtheoilandwine.com/author/efarim7praise/
had graciously invited me to write my Christian poetry on her blogsite back in 2017. It gave me great delight and pleasure that she published them on her wonderful blog; I was working part time so I couldn't devote too much time and focus on it. Eventually after the passing of time, I felt the Holy Spirit pressing in to me to retire fulltime, to be at home with my husband and be of help with him around our home, and to draw closer to and spend more time with our Heavenly Father. I determined with the time I spend in the morning alone with God that I'd include the poems I write to Him in my blogs. I thought I would mostly keep it of my poetry and sometimes vary it with other thoughts that cross my mind pertaining to the times we're living in. I do enjoy visiting various other blogsites to learn from and to comment here and there by uplifting and edifying comments, and hopefully connect with love and prayers for one another. I take Colossians 4:6 to heart which states "Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man." I also believe Proverbs 27:17 which states "Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend."
We, as the body of Jesus Christ, need to stay close at heart in these uncertain times with love, faith and trust in Jesus Christ our Saviour, that He will see us through. ♡

The devil would like to set us apart to make us feel lonely and depress. But, thanks be to God, He has already set us apart as a holy people to His glory.
Great poetry, Susan. Thank you and God bless you.
