Choose Christ To Dwell In You

Do you know who lives in your heart?

The Lord wants to make you His dwelling place.

Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? (1 Corinthians 3:16)

The Spirit of God dwells in your heart to give you life.

The Spirit of the Lord dwells in you to give you peace and love.

But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. (Romans 8:11)

Who or what is in the world?

These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)
Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because all sinned— (Romans 5:12)
For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their own craftiness”  (1 Corinthians 3:19)
Even so we, when we were children, we were in bondage under the elements of the world (Galatians 4:3)
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. (1 John 2:15-16)
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. (1 John 4:1)
And every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world. (1 John 4:3)
For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. (2 John 1:7)

According to the above scriptures, in the world are tribulation, death through sin, worldly wisdom which is foolishness to God.

In the world are elements such as lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life which bring bondage to men.

In the world are false prophets, deceivers who have the spirit of the antichrist.

The good news is that Jesus has overcome the world and He is greater than the things that are in the world.

Therefore with Jesus in your heart, you will be able to overcome all worldly things.

You are an overcomer through Jesus Christ!

  1. Amen! Thank you Beverley for this fantastic reminder of who we are and why we are here as the children of the Most High God. With the free will He has given us, the pinnacle of His creation, we give Him great pleasure when we choose to walk in the Light of His love, and in obedience to His Word, which thereby causes us to be the overcomers He created us to be.
