The Revelation Of The Lampstand

The Lampstand was one of the utensils that God told Moses to make for the tabernacle.

The entire parts (shaft, branches, bowls and decorations) of the Lampstand were made of one piece of pure hammered gold.

You shall make seven lamps for it, and they shall arrange its lamps so that they give light in front of it. And its wick-trimmers and their trays shall be of pure gold. It shall be made of a talent of pure gold, with all these utensils. And see to it that you make them according to the pattern which was shown you on the mountain. (Exodus 25:37-40 NKJV)

The Lampstand had three branches for the candle on either side. The number three represent the Godhead – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The bowls of the lampstand were decorated like almond blossoms.

The Lampstand with its branches was created to appear like an almond tree branch that is blossoming.

Moreover, the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Jeremiah, what do you see?” And I said, “I see a branch of an almond tree.” Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am ready to perform My word.” (Jeremiah 1:11-12 NKJV)

The Lampstand symbolically meant that the promises of God are sure, and He will always perform His word in our lives.

The total number of lamps on the stand was seven and this number represents the mercy of God.

The lamps were lit continually and were never allowed to be extinguished.

“And you shall command the children of Israel that they bring you pure oil of pressed olives for the light, to cause the lamp to burn continually. In the tabernacle of meeting, outside the veil which is before the Testimony, Aaron and his sons shall tend it from evening until morning before the LordIt shall be a statute forever to their generations on behalf of the children of Israel (Exodus 27:20-21 NKJV)

The Lord shows mercy and compassion to a thousand generations who love Him and keep His commandments (Deuteronomy 7:9).

The mercy of the Lord reaches to the heaven and His truth unto the clouds because His mercy is everlasting and His truth endures for all generations (Psalms 57:10; 100:5).

perform my word

The Word of God is truth, which will cleanse and sanctify you (John 17:17). The Word of God is the lamp that lights our path (Psalms 119:105).

As children of God you are the lamp of the world. Therefore, when your lamp is lit by the Lord Jesus Christ do not hide it under the bed or cover it with a vessel.

Instead, put your lamp on Lampstand so that whoever enters may see your light (Luke 8:16).

I pray that you will be the Lampstand that shines in this dark world. Amen!

  1. Nice post. I was reading Luke 8 the other day. So many people are hiding from their sin, just as the lamp is under the bed. If only they repent, put the lamp on the table, they will not only see the light but have ears to hear to live in the light.
    Blessings.

  2. The world is dark and needs the light of Jesus. We are privileged to be able to be His representatives. May we have boldness and resolve to keep spreading His love and light everywhere we go. ✝️❤️
