Shelter In The Ark Of God
The redemptive power of Jesus Christ.
Moses mother had a strong sense of discernment because she recognized that her baby was not an ordinary child.
The bible said that the mother saw that her baby was a goodly child.
Every mother believe that her baby is special and will try to protect him as best as she could.
So, instead of waiting for the Pharoah’s soldiers to threw her baby in the river, Moses’ mother built a place of refuge for her baby and then put him in the river herself.
The same location that should be the child’s grave became his redemption. (Exodus 2)
The mother of the child demonstrated faith and courage by incubating, protecting and nourishing the deliverer of Israel.
She was a type and shadow of Mary, the mother of Jesus, who also incubated, nourished and protected her Son, who delivered the entire world from the curse of sin.
“And may he be to you a restorer of life and a nourisher of your old age; for your daughter-in-law, who loves you, who is better to you than seven sons, has borne him.” (Ruth 4:15)
Today’s prayer is taken from Colossians1:9-20.
Day twelve of our fourteen days of prayer.
For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;
Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son:
In whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him:
And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things He might have the preeminence.
For it pleased the Father that in Him should all fulness dwell; And, having made peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself; by Him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. (Colossians 1:9-20)
Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
Make you perfect in every good work to do His will, working in you that which is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. (Hebrews 13:20-21)

I had never thought of the parallels between Moses & Jesus. Pretty cool!

Yes, the similarities are close. Most of the characters in the Old Testament are type and shadow of Christ.

Amen! A mother’s love is so special. Those verses in Colossians are a great reminder of how powerful our Lord is.
