Lean Not On Your Understanding
Understanding is the ability of a person to comprehend or to grasp a meaning.
According to Dictionary.com, understanding can also mean superior power of discernment or enlightened intelligence.
As children of God, we walk by faith and not by sight.
Therefore, our understanding should be based on the things that we cannot see instead of the things that we can see.
However, humans tend to understand based on their intellect and what they can see.
Thus, the Lord instructs us not to depend on our own understanding of the things that are happening all around us.
We can see the mountain of debts and bills.
We can see the empty bank books.
We can see unemployment, sickness, diseases and numerous problems.
Yes, we can see all of those terrible things.
But, we do not have to lean on our understanding of how we will overcome them.
Those things that we can see are temporal while the things that God has in store for us, which we cannot see, are eternal.
For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. (2 Corinthians 4:17-18)
Therefore, in everything that we do or say, let us consult the Lord first so that He can direct our path.
But as it is written, eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him. (1 Corinthians 2:9)
God has a greater plan for us more than we can ever imagine.
Why not trust Him to make His plans happen in our lives!
Amen! Glory to God!
I was just thinking about this! How many decisions to I take to to God in my daily life and am I keeping Him at the center of everything I do? Because we can’t see everything, but He can.

Letting go and trusting God is part of the freedom we have in Christ. The enemy uses unanswered questions and worry to try and keep us in bondage. It’s a challenge to overcome the need to fix and know everything. But no one can care for us like the Lord. May we keep trusting Him more each day and learn to be content not knowing it all, while trusting the One who does. Thanks Beverley, great post.

So true, the enemy uses many evil devices to keep us in bondage. But, we have to be wise and be alert. Thank you, Dawn, for your wise input.
