Waiting Patiently

Waiting does not fit into a microwave society. Speed is the order of the day.

We want the fastest car, the fastest internet and our daily diet is fast food.

Most naturally we expect the Lord to appease to our desires at heavenly speed.

Unfortunately, we do not realize that God does not operate in human time frame.

God already provided all our individual needs in the beginning and they were placed on our time line from the day we were born. On each of us timeline is the day we will marry, our education, career, healing and divine destiny.

The dates were already established by God and it is for us to align ourselves with Him so that we can achieve them.

Thus, the length of time that we wait to achieve our desires depends on us. How long will it take us to pass the test of obedience, patience and humility in the wilderness of trials?

Instead of complaining while waiting, focus your attention on God, pray earnestly and the Lord will hear. He will snatch you out of the traps of the enemy.

The Lord will establish your feet upon a rock and put a new song of praise in your mouth.

I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined to me, and heard my cry. He also brought me up out of the horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth – praise to our God; many will see it and fear, and will trust in the Lord. (Psalms 40:1-3)

Thank you Lord for keeping me in your presence!

  1. What a great word, Beverley. Thank you! One of the best things we’ve done in our house is to stop using our microwave. Not only are we eating better, we have become more patient overall when it comes to waiting on things. It’s difficult to wait on God, because unlike food, or standing in the line at the grocery store, or heavy traffic, we don’t always know what the outcome will be of our waiting. But we know He is Good all the time and that He loves us. Thankfully we can rest in that knowledge and leave the details to Him. Thank you for the reminder! God bless you, Sister.

    • Yes, the microwave is fast but it is unhealthy for your body. When we learn to slow down we become more patient. Thank you for sharing your experience. I was blessed by it. Have a great weekend.
