  1. He opens a doorway of Hope in the Valley of Achor if only we repent.

  2. 10 The ten sons of Haman the son of Hammedatha, the enemy of the Jews, slew they; but on the spoil laid they not their hand.

15 For the Jews that were in Shushan gathered themselves together on the fourteenth day also of the month Adar, and slew three hundred men at Shushan; but on the prey they laid not their hand.

16 But the other Jews that were in the king’s provinces gathered themselves together, and stood for their lives, and had rest from their enemies, and slew of their foes seventy and five thousand, but they laid not their hands on the prey, Esther 9:10,15,16 (KJV)

  5. That is what sin does it creates defeat, setbacks, shame and death. May we constantly repent from known and unknown sin. May our heart refuse the worldly excitements and seek after Jesus Christ.

    1. Yes, indeed, sin is a setback in our lives. This time that we have under lock down is the perfect opportunity to go on our knees in repentance to the Lord. Thank you for finding that post and highlighting it. That post is one of my favorite.

      1. You are welcome. It is an important post I don’t know how i have missed that post before. If we really focus on our inner man and seek to scrub, eradicate, kill, destroy and rip sin from our lives we will see a better us. I love to challenge myself and don’t get comfortable. One thing I have learn’t is that the closer we get to God the more we see how sinful we are. It is like taking a cloth that looks clean and put it beside another one and
there is not much of a difference they both look clean but when we put it beside a brand new clean cloth then the difference will show up. The sinful us getting in the presence of the Holy God. Isaiah said woe is me for i am undone, I am a man of unclean lips.
May God show us the idols of our heart and help us to kill the Achan spirit, (the lust of the flesh, lust of the eye and the pride of life)

      2. That post was written a long time ago before we met. I like the anology you stated about the cloth. Our problem in the church is that we compare ourselves to each other so we believe in our hearts that we are cleaner than the other person.

But as you said when we compare our lives to Jesus it does not matter how clean we thought we are, the real state of our hearts will appear and all we can do is to repent. During this crucial time it is important that the church remain in constant prayer and repentance. Thank you, Maurice.

      3. You are welcome Beverley we must be in constant prayer and repentance. Jesus is Holy and we as Christians must seek to attain unto this holiness. Without holiness no man shall see God
