The New Year is a special time of celebration but in everything that we do we must do it in moderation.
If you plan to ring in the New year with food and wine do so in moderation.

My prayer for you this New Year is that you remain sober in body and spirit.
Spiritual Soberness
Be sober and be vigilant
Remain constantly on the alert for the enemy’s attack.
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.
(1 Peter 5: 8-9 NKJV)
Think soberly
God has given you the spirit of of power, love and sound mind so you need to remain in a calm spirit at all times.
For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.
(Romans 12:3 KJV)
Watch and be sober
Be prepared at all times because the coming of the Lord is near.
Jesus can appear at anytime even during the New Year celebration.
So it is important that you remain sober and alert so you will no be caught off guard like the foolish virgins (Matthew 25).
Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
(1 Thessalonians 5:5-8 KJV)
How do you plan to spend your New Year?
