Pursue, Overtake And Recover All!
While David and his men was away from their home town in Ziklag, the Amalekites attacked and burned the city to the ground and captured all the women and children.
David and his men wept bitterly when they saw the ravaged state of their homes. Every one of them lost someone.
When bad things happened, many of us try to find someone or something to blame.
Some people blame God, some people blame the government while others sought the nearest and best person to blame.

This was what David’s men did! They angrily blamed David for the devastation and threatened to kill him.
The unfortunate situation was even more distressing for David because on top of is lost, all the the anger of his men were thrown on him.
But instead of finding someone to blame, David sought refuge in God and “strengthened himself in the Lord his God.” (1 Samuel 30:6)
David knew from past experiences that God is his “refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” (Psalms 46:1)
So, David entered the presence of the Lord with the high priest and asked God some specific questions.
“Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?”
And the Lord immediately answered David, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.” (1 Samuel 30:8)

The enemy has stolen some valuable stuff from many of us.
The enemy may have stolen your joy, your finances, your job, your spouse or your children.
Whatever you have lost you can regain if you follow the principles of David.
Don’t waste time blaming others for your trials but seek answers from your Creator and Protector.
He is telling you to pursue, overtake and recover all.
You can rely on the Word of God because His promises are sure.
Assurances of Success
You will overcome all obstacles
You can tackle any obstacles ahead as you pursue because with the Lord by your side you can run against a troop and leap over a wall (2 Samuel 22:30).
While pursuing the enemy the Lord will enlarge your path to prevent your feet from slipping (2 Samuel 22:37).
The Lord will light your path with His Word. He will also strengthen your feet and gives you stability.
He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; He causes me to stand on the heights. (2 Samuel 22: 34) NKJV)
The Lord will teach your hands to war
If you do not know how to fight spiritual warfare, the Lord will teach you how to use your weapons (2 Samuel 22:35).
During the battle you will be protected with the shield of God’s salvation (2 Samuel 22:36)
Additionally, you can “take up the shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.” (Ephesians 6:16).
Ensure that you put on the entire armor of God.
The right hand of God will defeat the enemy
When the Lord stretch out His right hand, the earth will swallow the enemy and He will also cast them into the sea (Exodus 15:4).
During the battle stay in the presence of God.
In the presence of the Lord demons will tremble (James 2:19).
In the presence of the Lord the mountains must bow and quake (Judges 5:5).
In the presence of the Lord the enemies will be silent (Zephaniah 1:7).
People will flee to caves in the rocks and to holes in the ground from the fearful presence of the Lord and the splendor of His majesty, when He rises to shake the earth. (Isaiah 2:19 NLT)
In the presence of the Lord you will receive a time of refreshing (Acts 3:19).
Therefore, clothe yourself in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 13:14).
Finally, in the presence of the Lord there is fullness of joy as you recover all that the enemy has taken from you.
Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for Him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes. (Psalms 37:7 NLT)
We are here to destroy the works of the devil.

We serve a question answering God. Many of us only know that God answers prayer. We need to understand that He answers questions too. David asked God a simple question and He answered. Let’s get used to asking questions. Most of the problems that need solutions in our lives are only there because we are yet to ask the way out. Ask questions today!☺

I have always loved this story….that God told them not only to go and pursue the enemy….but to recover ALL that the enemy had taken. That is my prayer for my grandchildren who have turned away from God.

Indeed, the Lord will allow you to recover everything that the enemy has stolen and your grand children will one day return to God. Have a blessed day.
