When God has a plan for your life, you can’t get away from it.

You may run and hide like Jonah, but you will eventually find your way back to God so that His purpose may be fulfilled in your life.

Your past days of afflictions will not determine your future. Even though your origin was not prestigious, it does not mean that your end will not be prosperous.

Most people will judge you by your past, but no one will compliment you on your future.

For example, the prophets prophesied about Jesus’ future and His mother told Him about His destiny.

Therefore, Jesus was aware of His purpose on earth.

However, at the beginning of His ministry, when He read the passage in Isaiah concerning His anointing they rejected Him and chased Him from town (Isaiah 61:1-7).

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord” (Luke 4:18-19 NKJV)

The religious Jewish elites studied about the coming Messiah in the laws and prophets but they were expecting the messiah to arise from among the religious sects, not a carpenter’s son.

After reading the passage, Jesus informed the religious congregation that the prophecy of Isaiah was fulfilled on that day.

Instead of rejoicing that one of their children was the chosen Messiah, the people could only see His past.

They asked each other, “Isn’t this Joseph’s son? Isn’t he the Carpenter’s boy? Who does he think he is?”

Those are the same words that your people will say about you regardless of your anointing.

They will not accept your calling because they refuse to see you the way God sees you.

But their opinions do not matter. What matter is how God sees you and how you see yourself.

See yourself the way God sees you and accept the good plan that He has for your life.

The hindrance of your past will not affect you when you fix your eyes on Jesus.

God chooses who He wants to do His work. He is not a respecter of persons (Acts 10:34).

Many lepers were in Israel during the time of the prophet Elisha, but none was cleansed except Naaman.

He was not more special than the others, but God selected him to fulfill His purpose and for His own glory.

A prophet is never accepted in his own country because the people who are familiar with you can only see your past but they are spiritually blind to your future.

Thank God that people do not determine your future, so your purpose in God is secured.
