And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave their testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, aΒ manΒ afterΒ mine ownΒ heart, which shall fulfil allΒ my will. (Acts 13:22)

How do you become a man or woman after God’s heart?
Most of us who know the story of David are aware that he was not a perfect man (2 Samuel 11&12).
He made many mistakes in his life. But what set him apart from others is that he had a repentant heart.
Therefore, the most important qualification to be a person after God’s heart is that you have a heart that is willing to repent when you are confronted with your sins.
If your heart is hardened due to sin the Lord is willing to replace your stony heart with one of flesh.
This is a heart that is broken and humble. A heart that is regenerated and hungry for righteousness.
Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God. (Ezekiel 36:25-28)
Lord, we pray that you will remove the hardness from our hearts and give us one that is soft and pliable to your will and ways.
Lord, save us from all uncleanness and cause us to be reunited in your love. We want to be people with hearts like yours. In Jesus’ name, AMEN!
