My Beloved Is Mine, And I Am His

1–2 minutes

Like a lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters. Like an apple tree among the trees of the woods, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down in his shade with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste.

He brought me to the banqueting-house, and his banner over me was love. Sustain me with cakes of raisins; refresh me with apples, for I am lovesick. (Solomon 2:2-5 NKJV).

The Shulamite woman in Songs of Solomon searched diligently for her beloved until finally, she found him.

The Shulamite woman said that her beloved was outstanding like an apple tree among the other trees in the wood.

The fruits of her beloved was sweet to her taste. He was also her protector and her provider and above all, he covered her with his love.

A number of persons are still searching for their beloved. Everyone wants the perfect beloved but not many people ensures that they are worthy to receive the type of person that they desire.

My beloved is mine, and I am his: he feedeth among the lilies. (Solomon 2:16)

The Lord wants to share the intimacy of a beloved with His children. He wants to take care of us with love and tenderness.

But when He nourishes and blesses us He expects us to produce fruits of righteousness, not bitterness and complaints.

The nation of Israel is the vineyard of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. The people of Judah are his pleasant garden. He expected a crop of justice, but instead he found oppression. He expected to find righteousness, but instead he heard cries of violence. (Isaiah 5:7 NLT)

We are the vineyard of the Lord and His pleasant garden.

The Lord loves His garden and gives it the best of everything. But He wants us to produce crops of justice and righteousness, not violence and oppression.

I pray that we will live up to the standard that God wants us to achieve.

Amen! Have a blessed day!

  2. It’s a lot to live up to – but I hope that, at the end of my life, I can stand back and be proud that my life was focused on bearing fruit that the Lord would smile down upon. I feel like I’m still very far from that now though. I need to pray and reflect everyday until I get there. Thanks for sharing!
