And they were written just for you!
As the month of February begins, the merchants begin to advertise their products for Valentine’s Day.
The flower shops, the candy stores, and gift shops are getting ready for the big Valentine’s Day rush.
Most people have not recovered from the Christmas rush and worst many are in debt due to excessive spending.
But, ready or not in just a few days it will be February 14th – the day that the world celebrates love.
Many people are looking forward to receiving gifts from their spouse or friends, and they are looking forward to be showered with love and devotion on that day.
According to Wikipedia.org, ancient Greek has four distinct words for love.
- Agape – the love between God and humans.
- Eros – sexual or passionate love.
- Philia – affectionate or friendship love towards your brethren.
- Storage – the love between parents and children.
Many people have accepted this theory and believe that love can be differentiated.
Personally, I have never celebrated Valentine’s Day. I celebrate the love of God which I think is the only real love that covers and conquers all.
Therefore, I believe in ONE LOVE!
The perfect love of God.
When Christ lives in your heart, His perfect love will manifest through you in any form.
Only the perfect love of God can give you the desire to love your spouse, to love your friends, children, and family members.
Most definitely, only the perfect love of God that shines within your heart can make you love your enemies.
Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. (Matthew 5:43-45)
God’s love transcends beyond all boundaries, and only His love will give you satisfaction.
Only this perfect love of God we all need to receive so that we can share it with others.
I believe it is important that we all recognize how much God loves and cares for us.
When you have experienced and received God’s love, you will be able to share this love with everyone regardless of their circumstances.
Therefore, receive these love words from the Lord to you.
Greater love has no man than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. You are my friends if you do whatsoever I command you. (John 15: 13-14NKJV).
Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. (Romans 5:5NKJV).
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. We love him because he first love us. (1 John 4: 18-19NKJV).
For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome. (1 John 5:3NKJV)
As the father loved me, I also have loved you; abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my father’s commandments and abide in his love. (John 15: 9NKJV)
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8: 37-38NKJV)
To him who loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, and has made us kings and priests to his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen (Revelation 1: 5-6NKJV)
Please join me in worship as we sing the words of that beloved hymn: The love of God is greater far (Bill and Gloria Gaither)
