Trials are a part of life, but is there a place of refuge?
We all encountered trials at some point in our lives. Your problem may be similar to mine or it may be different.
Trials are attacks from the enemy that God sometimes allowed to teach us patience, humility, and obedience.
Sometimes trials occur because of our disobedience and sometimes they just spontaneously happen. For example, natural disasters.
Whatever the case, you can be protected from these trials. Your protection can be either be defensive or offensive.
What do I mean?
Defense is resistance against an attack. You have to learn how to ward off an attack or to guard yourself against an attack.
As a child of God your defensive strategies are:
- Putting on the whole armor of God.
- Taking only the men of war with you.
- Prayer and fasting.
An offensive strategy is a military operation that sends armed forces to occupy the enemy territories. This is also called an invasion.
The conquering of the land of Canaan by the Israelites was an example of the offensive strategy.
In our present dispensation, we are battling against spiritual forces so how can we invade the enemy territory that we cannot see?
The fact of the matter is that we are already in the enemy’s territory.
If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you (John 15:19)
Thus, we are surrounded by hostile forces who will be constantly attacking us.
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: (1 Peter 5:8)
Consequently, we cannot be dormant we must be vigilant and alert at all times.
You should always remain in the secret place of God where you are surrounded by His hedge of protection.
This secret place is also called the shelter, or sanctuary of God.
How can you enter this secret place?
By becoming the oil and wine!
Yes, this is what this blog is all about – teaching us to become the oil and wine. You can only advance to the oil and wine by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is your guide, comforter and He gives you power over the enemy.
By being totally obedient to the Holy Spirit you will be fully protected from the enemy.
When the third seal was opened in the Book of Revelation a voice in the midst of the beasts said,
A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.” (Revelation 6:6)
It was the voice of God! This verse has nothing to do with famine, contrary to the belief of many, but has everything to do with your guaranteed protection from the enemy.
For an in-depth study of this, read the book: Harm Not The Oil And Wine.
Other confirmations of God’s guaranteed protection in His Sanctuary are found in the following verses.
And when they went from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people; He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes, saying, touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm. (1 Chronicles 16:22; Psalms 105:15)
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. (Psalms 91:1-2)
While in the secret place of God, the Lord will rebuke the devourer for your sake.
And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith theLord of hosts. (Malachi 3:11)
Let us run to the place of refuge – the secret place of God!
