Was There A Pre-Adamic Or An Adamic World?
Was there a pre-Adamic world? Was there a world or civilization that existed before God created Adam?
They based their evidence on Genesis 1:1-2. They said that there was a gap of possibly thousands or millions of years between verses one and two. After God had created the earth, it became void and distorted by these inhabitants thus requiring God to re-create once more.
However, no concrete evidence in the Bible supports this view. But, the Bible states that God will eventually end this world and create a new heaven and earth (Revelation 22).
The word of God is the spirit of prophecy; and so, it encompasses the past, present, and future. (Revelation 19:10)
The first verse in the Bible does indicate that something was happening while God was creating the physical structure of the earth.
God is an active force who created the heavens, the spiritual dimension; but, as He began to construct the physical earth, there was another force coming against Him which caused disruption in the natural formation of the earth. All of this was taking place in darkness.
God cannot produce perfection with the presence of darkness, so He commanded, “Let there be light! And there was light!
Who or what was this light?
As soon as the expanse of space became illuminated thus removing the darkness, God was able to create the physical structure of the earth. In six days God created sun, moon, stars, planets, earth, water, air, plants, animals and humans (Genesis1).
Were these six days the same as the days on our calendar?
Think about this question seriously and think about the magnificent of God. Reflect on how expansive the universe is when compared to us.
We are less than dust compared to the size of one of those stars in the sky. God created this world in His time and space because He is greater than His creation.
We cannot exist in God’s time, so He created a time zone suitable for us. (Genesis 1:3).
When we understand this fact, we will appreciate that on the sixth day when God created Adam and Eve was a day on God’s calendar not on man’s.
Adam and Eve represented the first human beings created to live and rule on earth and to control everything that happened (Genesis 5:1-2).
They were made with the Spirit of God in them, so they were completely perfect. They were created in God’s time, so they had no age limit, they were immortals who could not die.
How long were they living on earth before they sin? You and I cannot answer that question because the Bible did not state it and God did not reveal it to us.
But because we know they were created in perfection in God’s time zone then to us mortal humans, this time encompasses many years (2 Peter 3:8).
It is physically impossible that God could create Adam and Eve today, and then tomorrow they fell into sin.
The Bible indicated that God communed with the couple in the cool of the day (Genesis 3:8). This led me to believe that there was a direct relationship with God and humans before sin.
How long did this relationship last?
After God made man, He created another day – the seventh day for His rest.
This was another divine day which is not similar to a human day. Thus, from the sixth to seventh day, the couple had a perfect relationship with God in paradise – the Garden of Eden.
These two divine days translate into thousands or millions of days on our calendar. Note that the perfect humans with immortal bodies were not limited to time and space.
There was no darkness, and men only walked in the light of the Lord. The perfect couple could move freely in and out of God’s kingdom on earth and in heaven.
Their bodies could change from physical to spiritual. Similar to Jesus’ body after His resurrection.
The question now is: Were Adam and Eve alone during the time of this perfect world?
After God had created man and woman, He called them Adam which means mankind. Note the woman was not called Eve until they fell into sin (Genesis 4:1).
The Lord gave this perfect couple a mandate. He told them to be fruitful, multiply and replenish the earth.
They were to fill the earth and subdue or control it; and rule over the fish, birds and every living creatures that moved on the face of the ground.
Every seed-bearing plant was the food for mankind. Likewise, the beast, birds, and creatures of the land ate plants as food not each other.
After the Lord had completed His work, He examined everything and behold, it was good.
The spoken word of God is life so when He commanded the couple to be fruitful and multiply, immediately His words became active, and other human life began to increase on the land (Genesis 1:26-31).
Was the multiplication of other humans done by reproduction process? Possibly, or were there other people created from the dust? Possibly, also.
But after the sixth divine day God looked at His created work and was satisfied with it so, He created another day – the seventh – so that He could rest from His labor and commune with man.
What a glorious world that was!
One without sin or abomination where the lamb lay down with the wolf, the leopard with the young goat, the calf and the young Lion together, with the little child leading them; and all animals feed on the plant instead of each other (Isaiah 11:6; 65:25).
A peaceful civilization governed by Adam and Eve before sin.
Was there a pre-Adamic or Adamic world?
- The pre-Adamic earth according to the gap theorists was ruled by Satan and other rebellious fallen angels, a civilization filled with giants, large monstrous creatures, and plants.
The world where humans cohabit with demons, fallen angels, beasts, birds, and fishes; a world where idolatry and every abominable sin was committed.
- The Adamic civilization which was created by God in perfection for His glory?
Which world do you believe existed?
Both theories may be considered conspiracies because there is no definite Biblical evidence to support them. I personally prefer to believe in the Adamic civilization that was free from sin because I serve and know a God who is wonderful and powerful in everything.
I believe He created a perfect world for humans to enjoy and they lived in it during a dispensation where time was limitless and was not confined by death.
Undoubtedly, this perfect world consisted of flawless and advanced technology. Technologies that we may never be able to achieve because we are limited by sin and death.
What happened to this perfect world?
Over to You!
Do you believe that these theories are true?
The younger generations are asking questions, and we can no longer teach them that Adam and Eve picked and ate an apple from the apple tree. Then Adam dug a hole and put the devil in!
