The Addiction Of A Young Man.

Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, before the difficult days come, and the years draw near when you say, “I have no pleasure in them.” While the sun and the light, the moon, and the stars, are not darkened, and the clouds do not return after the rain. (Proverbs 12:1-2)

The best time to seek the Lord is while you are young. He will guide you to your destiny, and it will be the beginning of a lifelong and satisfying career. Your relationship with God will be stronger, and you will become complete in Him.m-john-d-1101635_640

Joshua became Moses trusted servant from the time he fought the Amalekites and defeated them. Anywhere that Moses went he followed him.

When Moses went up to the mountain of God to receive His Commandments, Joshua followed him into the hills.

As an assistant to Moses, Joshua witnessed the close relationship that Moses had with God. He was part of the group who saw the appearance of God. Under the feet of God was paved work of sapphire, and it was like the heavens in its clarity.

The Lord called Moses up to the top of the mountain to speak with him. Moses told Aaron, Hur, and the elders to wait for him at the bottom of the mountain while he went up to the top. Joshua followed him (Exodus 24: 9-18).

Joshua, as Moses assistance, saw the glory of the Lord as a cloud on top of the mountain while in the eyes of the people, the glory of God was like consuming fire.

The children of Israel was unable to enter into the presence of God because they were rebellious and disobedient hence, they saw God’s glory as a consuming fire.

Moses was on the mountain of the Lord for forty days and nights, and Joshua was with him. Joshua saw the unique relationship that Moses had with God, and he yearned for it also.

At the Israelites’ campsite in the wilderness, Moses placed his tent outside the camp and called it the tabernacle of meeting because this was where he would meet and communicate with God.

While He spoke to God, the glory of the Lord as a cloud would settle on the tabernacle. After he finished talking with God, he would return to the camp to relate the message to the people. However, Joshua, a young man, did not depart from the tabernacle (Exodus 33:7-11).

And the Lord said to Moses, “Behold, I come to you in the thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you, and believe you forever.” So Moses told the words of the people to the Lord. (Exodus 19:9)

And the Lord said to Moses, “Behold, I come to you in the thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you and believe you forever.” So Moses told the words of the people to the Lord. (Exodus 19:9)

Although Joshua was young, he had a passion for God and he yearned to experience the relationship that Moses had with God. The Lord saw the desire of Joshua’s heart and appointed him to be the leader of His people after Moses.

The youths can emulate Joshua’s craving for God by attaching themselves to mature persons who can mentor them in the things of God. The pastors and elders should teach the youths how to live a godly life.

While you are young, follow the example of genuine men of God and do not depart from the presence of God.

Be desperate for God!

Enjoy the best that God has in store for you while you are young!
