Hi Beverley, I have a question. You mentioned in the beginning of this article that I can invite the Holy Spirit into my life. I don’t know how to do this, so can you please give me a scripture to read where it explains or demonstrates this?
    Thank you

    1. Hi Charles. Thank you for your question and sorry about the delay. I am not always on line. Romans 10:8-10 states that the word of faith is in your mouth that if you confess the Lord Jesus Christ and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead you will be saved. The scripture further states in Ephesians 3:17 that it is by faith that we know that Chrsit dwell in our hearts. Jesus can only dwell in our hearts through His Holy Spirit. Then, in 1 Corinthians 6: 12-20 it states that our bodies are members of Christ and as such your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit that is in you. Note that it is by faith that we believe that the Holy Spirit lives in our heart and so we can only prove Him by our individual relationship with Him. I hope I answer your question and please free to ask any question you want. Thank you and God bless you.

  2. I want to just like to ask u if you to think about something. Just give this a couple of thoughts. The word is “unworthily “ Which is an adverb not an adjective like the word “unworthy” which would be an adjective to modify a noun (person, place or thing). So adverbs such as unworthily describe verbs. How a person eats communion. Describes how they eat or take coummunion. Has nothing to do with our condition. Seeing how we are washed inthe blood and God calls us faultless and blameless. So it is not about our condition while we partake but how we eat it or the manner we eat. Here is insert that explains what I’m saying.

So it is not a matter of whether you are worthy or unworthy to partake, but how you partake. Come to the Lord’s table with boldness and partake because Jesus has qualified you with His precious blood. Don’t treat it as a ritual, but release your faith for health and healing as you discern that Jesus’ body was broken so that yours can be healthy and whole today. When you partake like this, you are partaking in a worthy manner, and you will not be weak or sickly, or die prematurely!” Joseph Prince.

    Blessings.

    1. Thank you for your clarification. The Corinthians at that time were indeed using the Lord’s Supper as if it was a meal. However, we cannot deny the fact that if we are living a sinful lifestyle and partake of the Lord’s Supper we will not receive the blessings from it. Thank you for sharing and God bless you.

  3. Hello, I’m a little confused on the aspects of the Last Supper. What does it mean exactly for worthy and unworthy. I’ve read the post by Donna and the explanation for me was a little bit more confusing, however, a little clearer as well. What I’m mostly confused about is exactly how we are supposed to partake. If we shouldn’t treat it as a ritual but as an actual supper, then while we are breaking the bread and drinking the wine with our relatives we should keep in mind that Jesus died for our sins while doing this. Or am I missing something. Exactly how do you release your faith for health. See I’m starting to actually read the Bible and I haven’t read all of it, but what I have read of it, makes me not want to do anything out of turn or out of order. So in turn, my question is this, how do I participate without bringing Sin into it, or participate without having a hidden objectives or desires that I may not even be aware of myself. Ultimately I know this is a lot to take in for question, but again I don’t want to do something that is wrong.

    1. Hi Warren. Thank you for your sincere question. The term worthy and unworthily can be confusing at times. If you read the entire passage (1 Corinthians 11) you will realize that there were some unruly behaviour in the church at Corinth that Paul was trying to straighten out. The people were treating the Lord’s Supper as it it was a meal to satisfy their hunger. Thus, they were eating it in the wrong concept (unworthily). The Lord’s Supper is a memorial of the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. Thus, we are honoring God when we partake of it with a sincere heart. 1 Corinthians 12:28 said, “let every man examine himself, and so let him eat the bread and drink the cup. ” This verse implies that before partaking we need to examine ourselves because if we have hidden sin in our lives such as un forgiveness, disobedience etc, we need to ask the Lord to cleanse us before partaking. If we partake without caring about the significance of it we will lose the blessings of it. You are on the right tract in your pursuit for a deeper understanding of the Word of God. I pray that God will pour His Spirit of wisdom and revelation upon you that you will come to the full knowledge and undersatnding of His Word. Amen. God bless you.
