The Blessed Generation

There is a generation of people who are blessed. Are you a part of that generation?

The following are the criteria to be included in this generation.

New Birth

You must be born again to be a part of the blessed generation.

Nicodemus asked Jesus this question when He told him that he must be born again to enter the kingdom of God.

Jesus replied, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit. Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life. So don’t be surprised when I say, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it wants. Just as you can hear the wind but can’t tell where it comes from or where it is going, so you can’t explain how people are born of the Spirit.”

John 3:5-8 NLT

Therefore, it is a spiritual birth that happens when you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.

This new birth becomes necessary because the sin of the first created human being cursed the entire world (Genesis 3).

As a born-again believer in Christ, you become children of God and joint heirs of Christ (Romans 8:17). Thus, you will inherit the blessings of Abraham (Genesis 12:3).

Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.

Psalms 32:1 NKJV

Obedience

To remain under the covering of blessings requires your total obedience to God (Deuteronomy 28).

Your children will be blessed. Your business will be blessed.

Wherever you go and whatever you do, you will be blessed.

Devotion to God

Your total devotion to God in continuous worship and praise will established the blessings of the Lord in your life.

You are blessed when you do not fellowship with mockers or workers of iniquity, but instead you delight yourself in the Lord and meditate on His Word day and night (Psalms 1).

You are blessed when you taste and see the goodness of God (Psalms 34:8).

Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord.

Generosity

When you give to the poor and needy, you will be delivered from trouble.

He who has a generous eye will be blessed, for he gives of his bread to the poor.

Proverbs 22:9

Integrity and Uprightness

Your life of integrity guarantees God’s blessings upon your life and your children.

The righteous man walks in his integrity; His children are blessed after him.

Personal Characteristic that Attract Supernatural Blessings

The Virtuous Woman

The virtuous woman is God fearing, generous, patient and kind. She is a blessing to her husband and family (Proverbs 31).

The Humble

The humble will inherit the earth and the Kingdom of God (Matthew 5:1)

The Bereaved

The bereaved will be comforted.

The Merciful

The merciful will obtain mercy.

The Pure in Heart

The pure in heart will see God.

The Peacemakers

The peacemakers will be called the sons of God.

The Persecuted

Enduring trials for righteousness will lead to an inheritance in the kingdom of God.

Thirsting for Righteousness

As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?

May the Lord help us to develop a genuine desire to seek Him and to find pleasure in His presence.

Becoming the Oil and Wine
