Will there be repentance on judgment day?

Will the mercy of the Lord ends when Christ returns?

These are tough questions to think about!

The Psalmist also asked similar questions when he was in distress.

Will the Lord cast off forever? and will He be favorable no more?

Has His mercy ceased forever? Has His promise failed forevermore? 

Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has He in anger shut up His tender mercies? (Psalms 77:7-9)

The Psalmist was so troubled that he could not speak.

The enemy bombarded his mind with negative thoughts that God had forgotten him.

Then, he remembered the goodness of God in the past and he considered the days of old.

Suddenly, he remembered a song of deliverance and meditated on it.

He allowed the song to encourage his spirit and he lifted up his voice in praise to God.

Before you give up on God, remember His mighty works and the wonderful things that He has done for you in the past.

If the Lord has done it before, He certainly will do it again.

Encouraging yourself in the Lord

Meditate on the Word of God and reflect on His everlasting grace and mercy to mankind.

The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, Slow to anger and great in mercy. (Psalm 145:8 NKJV)

Trust in the promises of God because He promised that He will always be kind to you.

For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, but My kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall My covenant of peace be removed,” Says the Lord, who has mercy on you. (Isaiah 54:10 NKJV)

Always remember that in spite of the drought, rain, storm, inflations or depression you will be like a green olive tree in the house of the Lord (Psalms 52:8).

Never forget that God’s kindness and promises remain steadfast despite life’s challenges.

The Lord is compassionate, slow to anger, patience and has no desire that anyone should perish but wants everyone to repent (2 Peter 3: 9).

Therefore, you can trust in the mercy and compassion of God.
