Finding Hope in the Valley of Achor

1–2 minutes

The valley of Achor is a place of trouble and disturbance (Strong Concordance).

It was the place where Achan and his family were stoned to death because of their sins (Joshua 7).

This is not a place where God wants His people to be, but sometimes circumstances may cause you to wander into this troublesome valley.

If you find yourself in this place, rest assured that there is hope.

The Lord is with you even during trials and tribulations because He is a present help in the midst of trouble (Psalms 46:1).

In spite of the fact that a terrible tragedy occurred at the Valley of Achor, it was also the place where God forgave and turned from His fierce anger.

Therefore, the Valley of Achor – that trying times in your life – is an opportunity to repent, receive God’s forgiveness and begin a new life.

My prayer today, is that if you are in this troublesome valley you will not despair or lose hope but will turn to God and allow Him to lead you into green pasture.

Blessing!

  4. Amen. God’s peace be with your own journey, Beverley. I also embrace the hope shared in the Psalms of David’s imperfections. Despite each one, his love for God never wavers. Indeed, there is hope waiting with God’s grace.
