The Spirit Of Ananias and Sapphira
What is the spirit of Ananias and Sapphira?
You can read the story of Ananias and Saphira here.
I believe that this evil spirit is still manifesting in the Church today.
“And anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but to him who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven.
(Luke 12:10 NKJV)
Why is there no forgiveness if you blaspheme against the Holy Spirit?
Jesus Christ died for the sins of this world and so He has the power to forgive your sins when you sin again Him.
Hebrews 10: 29 asks, “Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace?”
If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and have received the knowledge of truth and then returned willfully to a life of sin, then you are trampling on the Son of God.
The Holy Spirit is the spirit of truth who will guide us into all truth based on the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, if someone willfully rejects the conviction of the Holy Spirit and prefers to remain in his sins he is in essence demonstrating that he does not need forgiveness.
Many members of the Church are pretentious!
They preach the Word of God but they practice something else in their homes. This is the spirit of Ananias and Sapphira.
This spirit lies to the Holy Spirit because they are not obedient to His instructions.
Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying: ‘These people draw near to Me with their mouth and honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’
(Matthew 15:7-8 NKJV)
The Pharisees and the religious elites were offended by the words that Christ spoke, and many people are still offended by these words.
We are living in God’s time, and if we are not firmly rooted in the Word of God we will be easily uprooted by the deceitfulness in this world.
But, God!
The risen Christ is at the right hand of God making intercession for us (Romans 8:34).
God is merciful and long-suffering and is not willing for anyone to perish but for all to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9)
However, if you are guilty of hypocrisy, you may not die an instant physical death similar to Ananias and Sapphira, but you will die spiritually because the Holy Spirit has departed from your heart.
When the Holy Spirit departs, a religious spirit from Satan will take over your body.
The religious spirit is committed to church duties but is hardened towards the spiritual truth of the Word of God.
There is still hope for anyone who is in this state because Jesus Christ is the resurrection and the life.
He can resurrect your dead spirit if you humble yourself and repent with a genuine heart.
His arms are opened to welcome you back to Him!
I pray that we all will remain true to the Spirit of Truth.
Amen!

A good word. Repentance is so needed in these days. We must return to the heart of Christ.

Beverley, this word is from God and pierced my heart. It is about making an outward appearance of serving the Lord but having a heart that is far from him. God wants our whole heart not our words. Loving God is to obey him. This post has me examining my motives. Thank you.
