How To Identify The Truth In A Deceptive World.

We are living in a topsy-turvy world where the truth is disregarded and lies are celebrated as truth.

Worst of all, sometimes both truth and lie are combined to deceive you. Satan specializes in this strategy.

A perfect example of this was played out during the 2020/2021 COVID-19 pandemic where both true and false information were widely circulated on the social media.

In such cases, how do you differentiate between factual and fictional news?

The Bible states that we are destroyed because of lack of Knowledge (Hosea 4:6).

Therefore, a sound knowledge of the Word of God will ground you in the truth.

But, sometimes the Bible is twisted and manipulated to suit personal agenda?

How can you know when this is the case?

Jesus states in John 8:31-32, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

The most important instructions in the above message is to have a close relationship with Jesus Christ and remain faithful to His Word.

Thus, the truth will not promote fear or entangle you in bondage.

The reality is that God is neither the author of confusion nor does He instigate fear in your hearts (1 Corinthians 14:33; 2 Timothy 1:7).

Any information or news that promote fear in your heart is from the synagogue of Satan.

On the other hand, any information that encourage and promote abundant life is from the Lord (John 10:10).

The devil does not want you to know the truth, but by adhering to the following steps you will expose his lies.

Six simple steps to keep you on the pathway of truth

  1. Develop a close relationship with the Lord. You can begin with the ABC’s of salvation.
  2. Be obedient to the Holy Spirit who is your teacher and guide in this deceptive world.
  3. You need wisdom and a discerning spirit to abide in the truth. The Bible says if you lack wisdom  you should ask the Lord and He will give it to you liberally and without reproach (James 1:5). The Lord has provided the perfect prayer for you and it is found in Ephesians 1:17-23; 3:14-19. You can read it here.
  4. Build a firm foundation in the Word of God, which is the Word of truth (Psalms 119: 160; John 17:17).
  5. Pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17). Prayer is your weapon that will destroy the lies of the enemy.
  6. Be kind and compassionate to each other, even those you may consider your enemies (Ephesians 4:32).

Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. (John 17:17 NKJV)

Jesus prayed that we be sanctified in the truth so let us live by His Word so that we can live a free and holy life.

I am currently writing about some truths that Satan does not want God’s people to know and so far the facts have been astounding.

Share with us some truths that the devil does not want you to know.

Have a blessed day and thank you for reading.

  1. Many times we limit God to our limited or wrong understanding. For instance before his crucifixion and resurrection, although he told his disciples this would happen, they did not believe because it did not fit their view of Jesus. Also, Peter got offended because Jesus took a towel and a basin to wash his disciples’ feet and was refusing to let this happen. Peter’s limited view of the Messiah meant he would not be a servant and humble himself. Once Peter understood, he wanted a bath!

  2. Thanks for sharing those steps. I think a truth the devil doesn’t want us to know is that we can be satisfied in Christ. ”Psalm 145:16-You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing.” So he tries to keep us from the Lord by trying to convince us to fill our lives with things and or people that can’t bring us true satisfaction.

    • This is so true, Dawn. I never thought of this before. That is why we find ourselves buying unnecessary things on the internet. I am guilty of this. May the Lord help us to be satisfied. Thanks for sharing. Blessings.

  3. Loved this post! Yes we are living in confusing times. And agree that satan is having his way with the world. All the more reason we should be in the word so we recognized a falsehood when it comes our way. Satan doesn’t want us to know how TRUE GOD’S word is……like he said in the garden: “did GOD really say that?” Oh how he lies to us!
