The Nervous Preacher

1–2 minutes

Preaching his first sermon, the seminary student had written a thoughtful line in his sermon, “God called me to heal the sick, raise the dead, and cast out the devil.”

But in his nervousness, it came out like this: “God called me to heal the dead, cast out the sick, and raise the devil.”

  3. This reminds me of a woman in my church when I was a young girl. Pastor has asked for people who wanted to testify. She was new to church and wanted to share, but was nervous about it. The pastor’s name was “Harry.” She stood and said, “When I think of God’ s love, Brother Happy I feel hairy all over.”
