An old English saying states that opportunity knocks but once, which means that you should make use of an opportunity when it comes because it may not come again.

Is this the same principle with God? If you miss an opportunity from God will He send it to you again?

Jonah ran away from an opportunity to prophesy to a wicked nation but after being in the belly of Sheol in the depths of the sea due to his disobedience God raised him up again, and the Word of the Lord came to Jonah the second time, saying, 

“Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and preach to it the message that I tell you.” (Jonah 3:1-2)

God is a God of second chances!

If you miss one opportunity, God will send another one your way but you must have the wisdom to recognize your second chance.

For a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again, but the wicked shall fall by calamity. (Proverbs 24:16)

Sometimes you missed an opportunity because of a lack of knowledge.

I missed many opportunities in life because of ignorance but God returned those past opportunities to me again because they were the plans that He had for my life.

If you believe that no opportunity is coming your way then seek the Lord who will reveal to you the plans that He has for you.

You must open your mind to receive the good plans that God has for you.

They may not be your initial plans but God’s plans are the best for you because they will bring you health and long life.

Remember that every day is an opportunity to do good and to speak well to others.

It is an opportunity to keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit (Psalms 34:113-14).

The Lord’s compassions never fail and His mercy is renewed every morning so He has given you a new day and a new opportunity to do good and pursue peace at all times.

Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. He who speaks evil of a brother and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. There is one Lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. Who are you to judge another? (James 4:11-12 NKJV)

You may fail sometimes but remember failure is an opportunity to begin again.

With man, opportunity comes once but with God opportunity comes again to give you life.
