Uplifting Bible verses during times of war
Whenever there is a crisis in the world three emotions immediately affect the victims:

Fear, hopelessness, and apprehension.
Fear
Fear generates a sense of hopelessness leading to anxiety about your life and future.
Fear is the body’s psychological response to threatened danger whether real or imagined. Your body generates certain hormones that put your body in defense to either fight or flight.
The current news media show thousands of people fleeing Ukraine due to the invasion of Russian armies while many others remain to fight and defend their country.
Today, the Lord is saying to you to let not your heart be troubled because He is a present help in times of trouble (Psalms 46:1).
Therefore, STAND fully clothed in your battle attire.
A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle, you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere. (Ephesians 6:10-18 NLT)
Hopelessness
The barrage of gunfire and the explosion of bombs not only destroy the physical structures but also your hopes and dreams erupt in consuming flames.
But, the Lord assures us that when we see these wars and pestilences happening around us we should look up with expectation because the powers of heaven will be shaken and the Son of man will burst through the cloud with power and great glory (Luke 21:25-28).
“Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him For the help of His countenance.” (Psalms 42:5 NKJV)
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; but its leaf will be green and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit.” (Jeremiah 17:7-8 NKJV)
Worry/Anxiety
The chaos and devastation of war trigger fear and hopelessness and then you begin to worry about the possibility of famine, disease outbreak, and violence.
You no longer have the safety of your home or the security of a job. What will happen to you? How will your children survive?
The Lord’s answer to your worries is:
Be at peace!
Therefore, do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. (Matthew 6:31-34)
“Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” (Psalms 24:4)
“The Lord will not reject His people; He will not abandon His special possession. Judgment will again be founded on justice, and those with virtuous hearts will pursue it.
“Who will protect me from the wicked? Who will stand up for me against evildoers? Unless the Lord had helped me, I would soon have settled in the silence of the grave. I cried out, “I am slipping!” but your unfailing love, O Lord, supported me.
“When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer.” (Psalms 94:14-19 NLT)
Let us continue to pray for the people of Ukraine.
