  3. This post really spoke to me, Beverley. From the opening sentence, it pulled me in. Ezra had “prepared his heart.” The world is trying to constantly have my attention, but it is incumbent upon me to prepare my heart and seek the Lord’s will. And the “foolish arguments” part reminded me of a recent exchange I had on Facebook about gun control. I’m learning that people who put all their trust in guns instead of in the Lord will never convince me that they’re right — and I will never convince them that they’re misplacing their trust. Thank you for giving me such a well-thought-out, well-written reminder of what is important.

    1. You are welcome, Jan, and thank you also for your thoughts on this. You are so right about some of these people whose mind is set on certain things that are wrong. It does not make sense to try to convince them of the right thing. You just have to leave them to their own way of thinking and simply pray for them that one day the Lord will open up their spiritual eyes to see clearly.

In these times we definitely have to prepare our hearts to seek the will of Lord. I appreciate your input. Have a blessed week in the Lord.

A good study of how Ezra prepared his heart for the task ahead. Dwelling daily and meditating on Gods Word is what 2 Timothy 2:15-16 “to study to show ourselves approved of God”, is how we are well pleasing to God.

  5. Thanks Beverley. At work we have a daily 30 minute chapel that we take turns leading. On average I have to do it twice a month. Your post is encouraging me to keep viewing chapel as an opportunity to serve God instead of seeing it as a daunting task. It is good training to share the word boldly. 🤗

    1. That is a great opportunity, Dawn. There are a lot of work places that do not want you to mention the name of the Lord. But as you said you can use this time to minister the word of God and encourage others. You have a wealth of resources (your books and blog) that you can select from. I believe God was preparing your heart for this opportunity and even bigger ones to come.

      1. Yes working for a Christian organization is a blessing. Prayer is part of our workday. There are many differences between here and the other non Christian places I have worked. For example I have not heard any office gossiping lol. Thanks for your encouragement. I pray you and Jadon enjoy your weekend, and that he is coming along well.
