For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the Law of the Lord, and to do it, and to teach statutes and ordinances in Israel. (Ezra 7:10)

Ezra was a scribe in the law of Moses. He was part of the captive Jews living in Babylon when Nebuchadnezzar conquered Judah.
After seventy years as prophesied by Jeremiah the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and also put it in writing, saying,
Thus says Cyrus king of Persia:
All the kingdoms of the earth the Lord God of heaven has given me. And He has commanded me to build Him a house at Jerusalem which is in Judah. Who is among you of all His people? May his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem which is in Judah, and build the house of the Lord God of Israel (He is God), which is in Jerusalem.
And whoever is left in any place where he dwells, let the men of his place help him with silver and gold, with goods and livestock, besides the freewill offerings for the house of God which is in Jerusalem. (Ezra 1:1-4)
So, many of the Jews under the leadership of Zerubbabel and Jeshua returned to Judah to rebuild the temple. However, they faced many persecutions from the adversary which hinder their progress.
So the Lord raised up two prophets, Haggai and Zachariah, to prophesy to the leaders and people to build up their courage to take a stand against the enemy and completed their task.
When the temple was completed and dedicated and the Passover celebrated, Ezra decided to once again study diligently the laws and ordinances of God so that he would be equipped to teach the people.
When God has a call on your life even if you do not think that you are qualified the Lord will present opportunities to train you so that you will be adequately equip to teach His people.
Preparing your heart
Spend time in the Word. The Lord will teach you His Word through the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
Spend quality time in prayer and fasting and listen to the voice of God.
How do you know the voice of God? Jesus said that His sheep hear His voice and He knows them and they follow Him (John 10:27).

Therefore, you must have a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ to be able to recognize His voice when He speaks to you.
It is easy to get distracted by the noise and confusion around you. Bear in mind also that the noise can be as a result of your thoughts and desires.
Thus, it is imperative that you relinquish all secular desires and ensure that your desires lined up with the plan that God has for your life.
On many occasions Jesus secluded Himself from the crowd and even His disciples to spend quality time in prayer to God – His Father.
Thus, separating yourself away from surrounding distractions is essential to receive revelation from the Lord.
Paul encouraged us in 2 Timothy 2:15-16 to study to show ourselves approved of God. We should be a worker who has no reason to be ashamed of his work and to apply the true teaching of God’s Word in the right way.

The passage further states that we need to stay away from people who talk about useless things that are not from God.
Do your best to live right and to have faith, love, and peace, together with others who trust in the Lord with pure hearts. Stay away from foolish and stupid arguments. You know that these arguments grow into bigger arguments. (2 Timothy 2:22-23ERV)
As a servant of the Lord, you must not argue. You must be kind to everyone. You must be a good teacher, and you must be patient. You must gently teach those who don’t agree with you. Maybe God will let them change their hearts so that they can accept the truth. The devil has trapped them and now makes them do what he wants. But maybe they can wake up to see what is happening and free themselves from the devil’s trap. (2 Timothy 2:24-26ERV)
