The Dear Old Book

1–2 minutes

A lonesome woman parishioner demanded a home visit from her pastor.

So, as promised, the reverend showwd up and sat by the woman’s bedside listening to her litany of woes.

Finally he asked to read a passage from her Bible.

To impressed the pastor of how much she read her Bible, the woman sweetly called to her little daughter, “Darling, please bring mother that dear old book that she reads every night.”

Promptly the little girl brought in a copy of the popular TV movie magazine.
