Our fourth grader celebrated his birthday on crutches, so he couldn’t carry the cupcakes into school without help.
I asked our sixth-grader, Noah, to help his brother carry them in.
“I could,” he said, “but I’d prefer not to.”
Spotting a teaching moment, my husband asked Noah, “What would Jesus do?”

Last night my Snookums asked me what is a cosmic cyclone? I told him I did not know…half distracted as I was doing my own thing, but I really don’t know as well… he explained it to me then asked why I did not know and if I watched the news I would know… and why would any adult not watch the news anyway to know everything that was going on!!!
I laughed … but the kid is correct … I should watch the news more…
