I read a post by Dawn, entitled For God So loved the world.
She wrote about how precious John 3:16 verse was to her and its constant reminder of the everlasting saving grace of God. You can read her post here.
However, when I read the title of her post the first thing that came to my mind was this question. What is there in this world to love?

I was reminded of the scripture in 1 John 2:15 which states,
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. (1 John 2:15)
The next question is: What are in the world that we should not love? The answer is found in verse 16
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father but is of the world. (1 John 2:16)
Lust and pride are prevalent in this world and they lead to the mass deception that is taking place in every area of society.
This world also consists of problems, tribulations, pestilences, plagues, crime, violence, wars, natural disasters, and multiple afflictions.
But, there are some things in this world that are precious to God and worth loving. Do you know what or who those things are?

Yes, humans and all living things on this earth.
The Lord cares for the plants and animals. He clothes the flowers and grass in fine raiment more luxurious than King Solomon.
The Lord provides food for the wild beasts of the earth and quenches their thirst with springs of water even in the desert.
Let us not forget the birds of the air.
Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? (Matthew 6:26)
You and I are certainly much better than the animals, birds, and plants. There is a special place in the heart of God for humanity whom He created in His image and likeness.
Yes, my friends, there are some things in this world that are worth loving and dying for.

YOU!
The Lord said that you are precious to Him and He loves you with an everlasting love. With loving kindness the Lord has drawn you to Him.
The thoughts and plans of the Lord toward you are not evil but are peaceful to give you an expected and hopeful end when you seek Him with all your heart.
Even though you have to live in this world with its many trials the Lord is saying to you, “Be of good cheer I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33B)
This world and all the lustful things within are finite and will pass away. But, your soul will never die.
Above all, when you receive the gift of love and salvation from God you will have everlasting life.
And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever. (1 John 2:17)

Thank you, Dawn, for giving me the inspiration to meditate on the great love that God has for us in spite of our imperfections living in a tainted world.
