The nature of humans is to want evidence for everything.

If you say that you love me then you have to prove it.

Most people wait on Valentine’s Day to prove their love to their spouse or friend. They prove it in various forms whether in words or deeds.

God also wants us to prove our love for Him.

How can you prove to the Lord that you love Him with all your heart and soul?

• By keeping His commandments

“If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. (John 14:15-18)

Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word; and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. He who does not love me does not keep my words; and the word which you hear is not mine but the Father’s who sent Me. (John 14: 23-24)

• By giving the Lord your total life

Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: (Deuteronomy 6:4-6)

• By your sincerity

Your love must be genuine and without prejudice. An unforgiving heart will hinder your love.

Your love must not only be expressed in words but also in kindness to others.

Jesus said that whatever you do unto the least among your brethren you do it unto Him (Matthew 25:34-40).

True love is not proven by money and material things, but by respect and truth.

Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honor preferring one another; Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;

Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. (Romans 12:9-15)

• Living in unity with the brethren

Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. (Romans 12: 16-17)

• Living peaceably with all men

If it is possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirsts, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. (Romans 12:18-21)
