Thanksgiving Seven Times A Day!

2–3 minutes

On Thursday, November 21, 2019, I decided to offer to God the sacrifice of thanksgiving everday until thanksgiving day on November 28, 2019.

This will be a total of seven days (not including Thanksgiving day).

Yesterday I came across the following verse.

Seven times a day I praise thee because of thy righteousness. (Psalms 119:164)

The Lord deserves our praise and gratitude not just for one day or seven days, but at least seven times each day.

The number seven is significant because in the Bible God used this number to signify His rest, grace, mercy, forgivness, purification and redemption. (See Exodus 20:8-11)

Glory to God!

Why do you need to praise the Lord?

The only reason is because of God’s righteousness.

But, I will give you seven other reasons to give the Lord thanks and praise.

1. God’s excellent greatness

Praise Him for His mighty acts: praise Him according to His excellent greatness. (Psalms 150:3)

2. The Lord’s mercy is renewed every morning and His mercy endures forever.

O give thanks unto the Lord; for He is good; for His mercy endureth for ever. (1 Chronicles 16:34)

3. There is no one like the Lord. He is God all by Himself.

Who is like unto thee, O Lord, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders? (Exodus 15:11)

4. Salvation is found in the Lord.

That I may shew forth all thy praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion: I will rejoice in thy salvation. (Psalms 9:14)

5. The Lord is your strength and protection.

The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him. The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed. (Psalms 28:7-8)

6. The Lord is your hope, help, health and deliverer.

Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise Him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God. (Psalms 42:11)

7. The Lord is worthy to be praised.

I will love thee, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. (Psalms 18:1-3)

Let everything that are alive and breathing praise the Lord!

Amen!

I love how you add scriptures to the 7 things we can be thankful for. It truly enhances the wonderful, loving and faithfulness of our Heavenly Father’s promises. That is what I consider filling our vessels with the oil of Gods Word. ❤
