In today’s society where there are so many distractions it is easy to lose sight of your purpose in life.

The rise of the internet and social media have created a virtual world where you can become so lost in it that you can forget your reality.

This virtual world on the web have created an illusion of happiness and success.

Most people preferred to post a fantasy on Facebook or Instagram so that they appeared to be having a wonderful life.

The average normal person looked at those glamorous pictures and may become envious when compared to their normal every day life.

Suddenly their life appeared dull and boring and they yearned for the fabulous life style of the virtual world.

These feelings can easily lead to depression and sadnesss.

The young people have become vulnerable to this virtual world of illusion.

Be not be fooled by this virtual world.

The real world is filled with trials, problems and heartaches.

Every single person on this earth whether you are rich or poor are faced with the same obstacles and temptations that the devil has established in this world.

It is easy for a person to wear beautiful clothes and put on a pretty smile for the camera.

But, when the flash is gone that person returned to his/her reality of confusion and heartache.

The lens of the camera will not show you the scenes behind the curtain.

But, we serve a mighty and awesome God who sees us when the lights are on and when the lights are off.

We serve an omnipotent God who knows our past. A God who is present in our today and who sees into our future.

Therefore, be not be distracted by fantasy and illusions. Do not allow the devil to dissuade you with his lies.

Instead, fix your eyes on Jesus. Never lose your focus.

Look upon Him who is the rock of your salvation.

Look upon Him who is the author and finisher of your faith.

Praise the Lord! Thank you Jesus!

  4. So true Bev! All that glitters isn’t gold, silver or precious stones! “Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also,” John 15:20. “As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received, Ephesians 4:1. And be not entangled in the world or its schemes. (paraphrased 2 Timothy 2:4)

  6. Wonderful reminder. Makes me think of the verses I’m currently memorizing Matthew 6:19-21 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth where moth and rust destroy and thieves break in and steal but store up for yourself treasures in heaven where neither moth nor rust can destroy and thieves do not break in and steal.”
