Your answer depends on your relationship with the Lord.

The sheep are gentle animals that need guidance to survive. A Shepherd is a person who takes care of the sheep. He keeps the sheep together so that they do not stray.

The Shepherd leads his sheep to pastures that are fresh and green.

He leads them to springs of water, and he protects them from wild animals (predators) such as wolves and lions that will eat them for food.

The Shepherd is very familiar with his sheep, so they know his voice. Hence, they will not obey a stranger because they are not familiar with the voice of a stranger.

Then Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.  All who ever came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. (John 10:7-8). “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. (John 10: 11)

I am the good shepherd; and I know my sheep, and am known by my own.  As the Father knows me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep. And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear my voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd. (John 10: 14-16)

Goats are animals that wander aimlessly around searching for food and water. They have no one to guide or care for them so they become prey to the wild animals (enemies) who will devour them one by one.

Jesus Christ is the Good Shepherd, who gave His life for His sheep. His sheep will never be led astray because they know their master and will always obey Him.

God placed shepherds (pastors) on earth to care for His sheep. If you are a shepherd, ensure that you follow in the footsteps of Jesus Christ and pattern His examples.

When you follow in the footsteps of Christ, you can testify as David did saying, “The Lord is my Shepherd I shall not want…” (Psalms 23)
