Don’t Give Up On Yourself
Sometimes you start a project but in the middle of it you realized that you had inadvertently omitted a key aspect that is vital for its completion.
What would you do? Would you give up and abandon the project or would you start all over again?
I know that the thought of starting all over again is frustrating. It seems like you have wasted valuable time.
Though it is hard, think of it this way. If you give up you will fail, but if you begin again there is a strong possibility that you will succeed.
Do you know that God felt like giving up on us on many occasions.
The first instance that we see this is in Genesis 6:6 where God stated that He regretted that he had made man and His heart was grieved.
In other words, God felt like giving up on humans when He saw how wicked they had become on the face of the earth.
God decided to destroy the entire inhabitants of earth with a flood but His mercy prevailed when He saw one man who was perfect in his generation.
So the Lord said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.”
But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. ( Genesis 6:7-8)
The second instance when God felt like giving up on humans was specifically the Israelites, His chosen people at that time.
While Moses was on Mount Sinai receiving the commandments and ordinances of God for His people, they were down in the valley worshiping a golden calf that they had made.
Naturally, the Lord was angry with His people.
One of the commandments which He had given Moses was that they should have no other gods before Him because He was a jealous God who would visit the iniquity of the people to the third and fourth generation.
At the sight of the abomination of His people, the Lord told Moses to step aside so that He could consumed them in His great wrath.
God told Moses that He would make a great nation from His loins.
But, Moses pleaded with the Lord and His mercy prevailed and He gave the people a second chance (Exodus 32).
So the Lord relented from the harm which He said He would do to His people. (Exodus 32:14)
When life’s journey takes you through some rugged path, don’t give up but press on until the pathway becomes smooth again.
When you find yourself far along on the wrong road, remember it is not too late to turn around and find the right road.
Don’t give up on yourself becasue God will never give up on you.
Over to you
Have you ever felt like giving up?
Have you ever find yourself doing the wrong things over and over again but cannot seem to stop?
How were you able to find yourself?
