A cry for mercy!

Between the porch and the altar!
The Lord commanded the priest to weep between the porch and the altar for Judah.

The people of Judah had followed their kings and leaders into idolatries and abominations.

Thus, the Lord pronounced judgment upon the land.

The evil in the land was so severe that the Lord lifted Ezekiel, His prophet,  in the spirit to show him the abominations that the elders, priest and people practiced in the temple.

The priest slaughtered unclean animals on the altar, the women wept for the pagan God Tammuz, and the men stood between the porch and the altar turning their back to the temple of the Lord and looked east to  worship the sun.

They claimed that God was not seeing them because He had forsaken the land. (Ezekiel 8).

In recent times, many Christians and even pastors and leaders are practicing abominable things behind closed doors.

They are dabbling into witchcraft to promote their ministries. They are tearing down each other through backbiting and jealousy.

Some religious leaders are practising, and overlooking sexual immoralities in their churches.

Many pastors hardly preached messages on holiness because they are themselves guilty of unholy conduct.

Certainly, they are aware that the Almighty God sees them but they think that the Lord has abandon them.

After all, they have been getting away with their evil for many years and the Lord has not withhold His blessings from them.

They are prospering and getting fat in their abominations.

Is the Lord ignoring the sate of His Church?

Has He forsaken His people?

The Lord is long-suffering and is not willing that anyone should perish.

But, the cry of the righteous and the oppressed in the land have reached His ears and He said, “enough is enough.”

He has  pronounced Judgment on land.

And He said to me, “Have you seen this, O son of man? Is it a trivial thing to the house of Judah to commit the abominations which they commit here?

For they have filled the land with violence; then they have returned to provoke Me to anger. Indeed they put the branch to their nose.

Therefore, I also will act in fury. My eye will not spare nor will I have pity; and though they cry in My ears with a loud voice, I will not hear them.” (Ezekiel 8: 17-18).

The rebellious people have hardened their hearts and so God is going to unleash a terror upon this earth that no nations  have seen before.

It will not come upon the entire world at once but  a little at a time, nation by nation.

Every nation of the world will eventually receive some devastation.

The Caribbean has recently received our share. Two major category five hurricanes in just a week apart. Other  parts of the world have had disasters. Read more at: US News.com.

Does this means we are now safe?

God has removed His edge of protection and He has commanded the angels of the four winds of the earth to unleash their fury on the earth (Rev 7:1; Mark 13:24-27).

Note that the Lord has already sealed His servants on their forehead. So as long as you are sealed by God you are protected.

How do you know if you are sealed?

By being obedient to the Lord you will become part of His elect or the oil and wine.

Between the porch and the altar was the place of greater abomination in Ezekiel’s vision.

Hence, this was the place where the prophet Joel told the priest to cry before the Lord for the people.

Let the priests, who minister to the Lord, weep between the porch and the altar; Let them say, “Spare Your people, O Lord, and do not give Your heritage to reproach, that the nations should rule over them. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘where is their God?’” (Joel 2:17).

God is now calling His appointed priests on this earth to intercede with weeping and wailing for the people of the land.

Why has God chosen the priests to intercede and not the prophets or apostles?

During the old testament period the priest wore the breast plate of judgment when he entered the holy place to make intercession for the people.

Before interceding for the nation ensure that your children are covered under the blood of Jesus Christ.

The wind has not ceased over the islands and the animals are petrified.

More judgment is approaching so let all the priest of God take their stance between the porch and the altar to cry to God for mercy.

“Spare your people O God! let us not be ashamed; let not the enemies triumph over us.

We need you Lord for you are God and we humbled ourselves before you on our face.

You are God! Do unto us according to your will but remember your mercy must prevail.
