Our Land Needs Healing

Due to the past devastation of many of our Caribbean islands by two deadly category five hurricanes, our land needs healing.

According to 2 Chronicles 7: 12-14, the Lord spoke to King Solomon after he dedicated the temple to God. He made a promise of healing and restoration of His people on certain conditions.

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14)

We often apply this scripture in our dispensation but we disregard the conditions.

Healing and restoration of our land are guaranteed by God when we sanctify and dedicate our lives to Him. The Lord will then choose our bodies as His dwelling place.

If we have sinned against God and He removes His hedge of protection so that pestilences and natural disasters come upon our land, there is still hope for us.

We as Christians who are called by His name need to humble ourselves, pray, seek God’s face and turn from our wicked and selfish lifestyle. Only then will the Lord hear and forgive us and heal and restore our land.

Many Christians are waiting for the prostitutes, homosexuals, and all the other sinners to repent for the land to be healed. But, this is not what God said. It depends on the repentance of the Christians. When the sinners see Christ in us they will repent.

And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, as the Lord has said, among the remnant whom the Lord calls. (Joel 2:32)

Therefore, since I desire to see healing in my land I decided to take the first step and post a prayer of repentance and deliverance on my Facebook about a week ago. I challenged every Christian to do the same.

The social media is a powerful avenue to spread the Word of God and to publicly demonstrate our willingness to repent and obey God.

The following is my prayer:

Heavenly Father
You are the great and mighty God and I come before you in humility and reverence. You are a God of mercy and you said you in your Word, “with the merciful You will show Yourself merciful; with a blameless man You will show Yourself blameless.” (Psalms 18:25).

So upon this premise dear God, I present to you the people of the BVI and the other islands who have been ravaged by the past hurricanes. Many of them are still living in inhumane conditions and their lives are still upside down, many are without jobs and homeless.

Many of these people are suffering from fear and confusion. They are plagued with insomnia and nightmares and it is also affecting the children.

Lord, we recognized that we all have sinned and fall short of your glory so we ask your forgiveness. Deliver us from the traps that the enemy has set against us. Deliver us from the stronghold of pride, deception, and fear.

I declare by your Word that no weapons that formed against us will prosper and every negative and evil word that is spoken against us, we condemn in the name of Jesus Christ.

Provide for every family that is in need because your name is Jehovah. Cover us under the blood of Jesus Christ.

Teach us to love each other as You love us because perfect love cast out fear. Grant us true wisdom and knowledge, Lord, to discern the time and to live according to your will. In Jesus name, Amen.

I challenge every Christian to post a prayer of repentance and deliverance on their Facebook wall because our nation needs healing.

Feel free to share.
