This Too Will Pass

Recently we had a few days of heavy rain and thunder and these bleak days resurrect the tragedy of Irma.

Once again you have to return to the tiring ritual of mopping up water and pulling out soaked rugs and sheets out the house.

Even if you have a roof you still need a tarp to cover your beds and furniture because it rains inside your house.

When will it end? A frustrated Irma victim asked on Facebook.

I could feel her pain because it is similar to mine.

Then, I heard the still quiet voice of my Lord whispering in my heart saying, “be still my child because this too will past.”

He has been telling me this for the past three months as I faced one trial after the other– this too will pass — and it usually does.

Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.  For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,  while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. (2 Corinthians 4:16-18)

We are living in serious times and we need to know the provision that God has made for us and how we can be prepared for the return of the Lord.
