Alone but not Lonely
Have you lost a companion?
Are you feeling secluded and apart,
Isolated and fearful?
At nights your pillows are soaked with bitter tears;
Your bed is cold, and there is emptiness everywhere.
Your friends called, they spoke
But instead of comfort you receive frustration;
Instead of calmness, irritability!
The adversaries laughed,
They mock, and they afflicted.
“Is this my penance for past mistakes?
Will this lonesome pain end?
Will the wound in my heart ever be healed?”
Your mind is reeling fast into dark amiss
How can you cease the inevitable?
And bring back sanity and peace.
Cry unto God!
From the depths of your heart
Call upon the Lord your God,
“Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am in trouble;
My eye wastes away with grief,
Yes, my soul and my body!” (Psalms 31:9)
“But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord;
I say, “You are my God.”
My times are in your hand;
Deliver me from the hand of my enemies,
And from those who persecute me.
“Make your face shine upon your servant;
Save me for your mercies’ sake.
Do not let me be ashamed, O Lord,
For I have called upon you;” (Psalms 31:14-17)
Then the Lord will answer, and said,
“Loneliness is an illusion, my child.
How can you be lonely when I dwell in your heart?
I am alive, and I speak to you
Constantly!
“Listen to the gentle whisper in your heart;
For it is me.
I am comforting you;
I am counseling you
And I am whispering sweet words of love in your ears.
“Listen, silently!
I am your steadfast companion.
So be of good courage,
I will strengthen your heart.
Yes, I will help you
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10)
I will lift you up and give you peace” said the Lord
Hope in God!
