For centuries the legend has been told that there is a pot of gold at the end of every rainbow.

Sure enough every time after a shower of rain, there is a sparkling rainbow lightening up the blue sky.

The scientist will tell you that rainbow is formed by both reflection and refraction of light in water droplets resulting in a spectrum of light appearing in the sky.

My God told us that He placed the rainbow in the sky to remind us of his covenant with us that the waters will never become a flood to destroy all flesh. (Genesis 9:12-16).

The fact is: the rainbow does appear in the sky occasionally but even if we could travel faster than the speed of light through time and space, we will never be able to find a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Like the appearance of a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day, this was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. (Ezekiel 1:28)

However, you do not have to search for treasures at the end of the rainbow because most of us have hidden treasures inside our very home.

These treasures are gifts from God.

Jacob had a turbulent life and his household was somewhat divided because he did not adequately exercise his leadership duty.

He lacked the wisdom to discern that each of his children came with a message from God to him. You can read more about Jacob’s family in The Birth of a Nation.

Now, I will tell you my personal story.

My personal messages from God

In 1996 I got married but after a few months,  I became unhappy and heartbroken because my marriage did not give me the love and fulfillment that I needed.

The Lord saw my afflictions and gave me a bouncing baby girl and sent a message through her to us. The message was, “I will give you joy in spite of your trials.”

The second child that God gave to us came with an even more powerful and urgent message to us.

It was, “Heal your broken heart and I will heal you son’s broken heart.”

Unfortunately, my husband and I were too caught up in our world of conflict and bitterness to interpret these messages until it was too late for our marriage.

The Lord revealed to me these messages when I gave my life completely to Him.

Your mandate

Ask God to reveal to you the messages that He sent to you through your children.

When you obey these messages they will heal any brokenness or pain that exist in your marriage.

They will also bring you joy and comfort. Children are indeed a heritage (an inheritance of heavenly treasures) from the Lord.

Tell the story of Jacob to your children and let them know how precious they are.
