Stay Afloat

1–2 minutes

Ships are built to float on the water. In spite of their massive weight, they are able to float because of the principle of buoyancy or Archimedes’ Principle.

The buoyant force is the force exerted upon an object that is submerged in liquid.

Basically, if the weight is less than the buoyant force then the object will float. The ships contain pockets of air which is less dense than water and this will give the ship buoyancy.

However, if water gets inside the ship it will become dense and thus sink to the bottom of the sea.

How can we apply this principle to our daily lives?

Consider the air as the Holy Spirit and water the things in the world such as the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life (1 John 2:16).

The more stuff from the world that you place inside your body the heavier you will become and eventually you will sink.

This is the low place in life that Satan wants you to be so that he can devour you.

When you are filled with the Holy Spirit you will float above your problems, you will walk on the water in spite of the turbulent sea and you will trample the enemies.

When you are filled with the Holy Spirit your eyes will be fixed on Jesus and you will walk by faith and not by sight.

My prayer for you today is that you will be filled with the Holy Spirit.
