Satan wanders the four corners of the earth trying to contaminate the work of God by his impersonations and imitations.

So, he has not only become an adversary of God but he has gained the title of father of lies.

The Lord Jesus Christ states that if you do not consider the Almighty God your Father then “you are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in Him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.” (John 8:44 NKJV).

God forbids that anyone should reach such a low point in their life to consider a liar as their father.

Paul warns us in 2 Thessalonians 2 about the coming of the “lawless one” at the climax of Jesus’ return.

Many Bible scholars believe that the “lawless one” is the antichrist who will be revealed in the latter days.

As a result, many people are anticipating the coming of this person whom Paul further describes as operating according to the workings of Satan.

But the possibility exists that the “lawless one” is already with us in this world since the beginning of time.

Jesus states that Satan is a liar from the beginning.

In Genesis 3, we learned that Satan disguised himself as a serpent and enchanted Eve with lies to taint God’s warning against the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Since then his lies disseminated throughout the entire world to enslave men in the bondage of sin.

Men have become enamored with the works of Satan which are counterfeit powers, signs, lying wonders, and unrighteous deception among those who perish (2 Thessalonians 2:9).

Satan targets the flesh because he knows it is the weakest part of man.

Every form of sin involves the flesh and if you live by the flesh you cannot please God because the carnal mind is an enemy of God (Romans 8:5-11).

The satanic powers of darkness spread like wildfire across the globe because the darkness is dazzling to the eyes of men who love signs and wonders.

Thus, Satan is performing miracles in churches using divination and enchantments.

He is even using secular media such as Holywood to prophesy future events and to ensure that they are fulfilled.

Satan is influencing the technology of man to delve into the hidden mystery of God’s creation.

Scientists are spending millions of dollars to find the “god particle” that began the world.

Scientists are defying the Word of God that states that God created one earth consisting of all living things (Genesis 1-2) and are spending billions of dollars to find life on other planets billions of light-years away.

Natural diseases have been manipulated and engineered into weapons of war to divide and conquer in the never-ending quest for power.

The deception of Satan has become so potent in our society that according to George Orwell, “In a time of deceit telling the truth is a revolutionary act.”

Overcoming the father of lies

In spite of the widespread deception in this world, all is not lost because Jesus has established a foundation of truth that will keep you grounded in this world.

The truth lies in the Lord Jesus Christ because He is the way the truth and life (John 14:6).

By allowing Jesus to be your Lord and Savior you have made Him the light of your life and the light eradicates the darkness.

Jesus states, “If you abide in my Word, you are my disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:31-32).

“If the Son of God makes you free you shall be free indeed.” (John 8:36). You will be free from sin and free from the evil devices of Satan.

“And it shall come to pass afterward,” says the Lord, “that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.” (Joel 2:28-29)

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth and He will guide you into all truth. Furthermore, He will reveal to you the things that will happen in the future (John 14:15-17)

Therefore, receive the Lord Jesus Christ in your heart and be filled with the Holy Spirit and you will overcome the father of lies.
