  3. I never liked my name (Ann) but when I found out it meant “grace” I started to feel very differently. To have that constant reminder that you are work of God’s grace is so encouraging – and an honour.

    1. That is so true. The meaning of your name defines your character. Praise the Lord that your name reminds you of the grace of God upon your life. Continue to enjoy His grace and favor. Have a blessed day.

  4. It’s incredible how so many of those names are so popular still in our modern culture. I actually never knew this happened in the Bible so I learned something new today! Thank you. If I ever have a child in the future, I’ll keep this in mind – names have power.

  5. Thanks Beverley. There is a lot to our names. I thought about how as children of God, we are responsible for representing the name of Jesus well. May we glorify Him in all we do.

  6. πŸ™‚Jesus renamed Simon to Cephas Peter. Simon means a shaking reed while Cephas means rock. He needed a change of name to suit his office.
